I am an educator and specialist music teacher who has worked within many different education sectors, from ECE to Tertiary. Music is a big part of who I am and I find it most rewarding to be able to share my passion for music with others. I am passionate about the value of music in everyone's life and about making musical engagement, and healthy personal growth, accessible to all. I believe music has a natural existence as part of humanity and has an incredible power to heal and nurture as we grow.

I have enjoyed playing music since I was young and continue to do so while currently playing the trumpet in the Dunedin City Jazz Orchestra. I organise the finances for Music4Us Puoro Mō Taatou and make use of the skills I have developed over my career as a Business Analyst at the Southern District Health Board. It is rewarding to be able to support the local community in both my work at the SDHB and with my work as Music4Us Treasurer and Trustee. It is a great opportunity to make a difference and lend a helping hand in supporting the health and well being of young people in Otago.

I am a kindergarten teacher and have been involved in early childhood education for many years. During this time I have been privileged to teach in many different philosophies. One of the key commonalities between the philosophies is music. Music has power and meaning that go beyond words, children learn more deeply and meaningfully. I believe music enables our children to grow their capabilities across all dimensions - cognitive, physical, emotional, spiritual, social and cultural.
